About

Economic Development Partnership of NC (EDPNC)

We are a public-private partnership meaning that we are state funded and then fund raise to augment those dollars to ensure that taxes to residents do not have to increase.

We offer free services to help NORTH CAROLINA to be economically strong for both residents, vacationers and for businesses interested in coming to our state!

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is focused on recruiting new businesses to the state, supporting the needs of existing businesses, connecting exporters to global customers, helping small business owners get their start, and attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world.

Here are the five main divisions of EDPNC:

  • Small Business Advisors – We have a small team of advisors who help people start or expand businesses in North Carolina. We help with rules/regulations in addition to general business resources ranging from general education to lending to seeking talent to work in a NC business. 800-228-8443 or BLNC.gov
  • Existing Industry & Expansion Managers – In each of the eight prosperity zones across the state, we have one person who calls upon existing small businesses and attempts to help the business to be able to grow and hire more people.  The regional managers assist with resources for customized training, locating financial resources, potentially sharing resources available in the area or state that the company is not already utilizing. For example, each community college has a Small Business Center Network who can assist businesses with business plans or educational resources related to business, computer systems and connect people with other small businesses.
  • International Trade (exporting focus) – If you have a product that you make, assemble or manufacture in NC and want to export, we have a team of industry specific export specialists who can assist you with making contacts in other countries with distributors or business partners.  This group also has access to funding from the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) which is financed by Federal Agency, Small Business Administration (SBA). Work with US Customs, Federal Agencies
  • Recruiting/Investment – We have two teams who focus on recruiting businesses from other states or other countries to come to NC.
  • Travel & Tourism – All the city and county convention work together and roll-up to the overall state tourism plan. We have people focused on the following areas: Group Tours, International Tours, NASCAR and Sports, NC as a Retirement Destination, Help local venues with marketing/advertising and the film industry.
