We empower North Carolinians to achieve their entrepreneurial potential.

In 2005, NC IDEA began with a simple focus, ‘to decrease the funding gap for early-stage companies’. Through “no strings attached” grant funding, we became a catalyst for the advancement of high growth, technology-based companies in North Carolina.  

Over time, and with persistent effort, we have developed a powerful combination of grants and programs to help entrepreneurs when they need it most. We empower North Carolinians from the mountains to the coast with an entrepreneurial mindset, while nurturing ideas with the potential for great economic impact. Our resources are highly competitive and we partner with organizations from across the state to identify and support North Carolina’s most ambitious entrepreneurs.
