Bladen’s Bloomin’ Agri-Industrial, Inc. (BBAI) is a private non-profit economic development corporation and revolving loan fund that endeavors to create jobs and tax base in Bladen county.
BBAI creates jobs, tax base and opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs by acquiring or building industrial properties and by leasing equipment used in manufacturing. BBAI currently boasts a network of 6 industrial incubators housing 8 industries, a small business incubator in downtown Elizabethtown hosting 6 businesses or community development groups and are in the final stages of designing a new small business center in downtown Bladenboro. BBAI also built a healthcare facility that houses a large medical clinic. BBAI has also loaned millions of dollars to small businesses and industries in Bladen County; these loans were for real estate, machinery and equipment, as well as operating capital. Each have helped startup and grow dozens of new businesses.
