Economic Development Administration University Center at Fayetteville State University (EDA UC @ FSU)

The EDA UC @ FSU program promotes small business growth for underserved populations in Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Robeson, & Sampson counties; offering a free, eight-week online entrepreneurial and COVID-19 business recovery training program.

About

The EDA University Center at FSU was established with a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support regional business expansion and COVID-19 business recovery efforts. In collaboration with the Carolina Small Business Development Fund (CSBDF) the Center provides emerging entrepreneurs and existing small businesses with significantly improved access to capital through free, eight-week, online entrepreneurial training courses (held 3 – 4 times annually) and mentorship support programs designed to reduce risk and prepare them for success.

The focus of this collaboration is to promote entrepreneurial and small business growth for underserved populations in the six-county region (Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Robeson, and Sampson) neighboring Fayetteville State University. Participants will be required to complete coursework on key business success factors and perform market tests to confirm the viability of their proposed business models before moving to the capital application stage.
